Frequently asked questions

Short answers about anonymity, the 3D city, the stats, and how submissions work.

  • What is MyLastTab?

A live, anonymous journal of what people had in their last browser tab. People describe it in a few words; every entry becomes one building in a shared 3D city and part of the statistics.

  • Do I need an account?

No. There is no login and no account.

  • Is it anonymous?

Yes. There is no account and no name. Your raw IP address is never stored; a pseudonymous key that changes every day is kept for at most 48 hours to limit abuse, then erased.

  • Are screenshots uploaded?

No. The app only accepts a short text description. There is no image upload.

  • Does the app read my browser tabs automatically?

No. MyLastTab does not read your browser tabs automatically. You decide what to write and submit.

  • What data is stored?

Your short description plus lightweight, anonymized metadata. See the privacy page for the full, exact list.

  • Can I delete my submission?

Yes, from the browser you wrote it in. That browser keeps a private delete key: open your building in the city and choose Delete my entry. From another device the entry cannot be linked to you, so it cannot be deleted there, but it can still be reported.

  • How does the 3D city work?

Every public entry is one building. Its category picks the district, its length the height and its mood the colour of the light. Each entry has its own numbered lot in its district, so it stays in the same place on every visit.

  • Why are there empty lots in the city?

The outlined lots are reserved for future entries. They are never shown as entries and are not counted in any statistic. A brighter outline marks where the next entry of that district will stand.

  • Are Latest entries real?

Yes. The Latest entries list only ever shows real submissions from the database.

  • How are hourly stats calculated?

Real entries are grouped by the local hour of the person who wrote them and counted. Nothing is estimated or padded.

  • Can I report inappropriate content?

Yes. Open the entry in the city or on its page, choose Report and pick a reason. The report keeps only the entry, the reason and the time.

  • Does the app track browsing history?

No. We have no access to your browsing history. We only see the text you choose to submit.

  • How does light/dark theme work?

The theme follows your system by default. You can override it from the menu. The 3D city has separate material presets for each theme.
